George Sarantinos
Audio Post Production and Sound Design
Born in London in 1996, and raised in Athens, Greece I have both British and Greek Nationalities. From 2015 until 2018 I studied Music Technology as a BSc at the University of York. During my time there, I acquired skills and knowledge in both the creative and technical side of audio and music.
I returned to the Audio Lab of the University of York in September 2018 to do a Taught MSc in Audio and Music Technology. This time I focused on the technical side of audio and familiarised with Acoustics, Digital Signal Processing and Ambisonics. For my end-of-year research project, I investigated the propagation of sound in a forest and how this can be modelled and recreated in a virtual environment. I graduated from the University of York in January 2020 with a Distinction on my Taught Masters Degree as well as a distinction on my End of Year Research Project.
I am now a Freelance Sound Engineer based in Athens, Greece. Since March 2020, I have been working with Film and other visual media, primarily as Audio Post Producer and Sound Designer, as well as Location Sound Engineer and Boom Operator. Having worked on both creative and scientific/research projects, I am searching for new innovative ideas to expand my knowledge and further develop in the fields of Audio, Acoustics and their related Technologies.
